For the past 11 years, the VTCT Foundation has supported organisations and research to help people living with a visible difference (a scar, mark, burn or condition that affects their appearance) and their families and carers to overcome social, physical, psychological, emotional or other disadvantage.
As we move towards our final ‘legacy’ phase, we are making a final call for applications through our Career Development Programme which makes awards for PhD students and Research Fellowships relating to visible difference. About the Career Development Programme
The Programme aims to deliver on our twin aims to support high quality, impactful research and invest in attracting and developing talent in the visible difference arena. Applications are encouraged from all researchers and healthcare professionals active and wishing to carry out research in and relevant to the visible difference sector.
Objectives of the Programme
- To enable clinicians and researchers to focus on areas of high impact research.
- To be the catalyst directly and by example for more funding to be channeled into the under-researched area of visible difference.
- To increase the talent attracted into research and ultimately the number of active researchers, research departments and NHS Trusts working in the visible difference arena.
